Getting a phone bill that lands you in the hospital will soon be in the past, Celcom’s new international roaming services Wonderoam promises to put the worry of having bill-shocks from never ever happening again on its network.
Branding its roaming services under a new moniker called Wonderoam, the international plan are for both prepaid and postpaid users, with range that includes daily and weekly plans comprising a 1 day for social users at just RM10, 1 day internet for RM38, and a special 1 week plan for RM138.
Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin, Chief of Sales and Marketing Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad said it has become fundamental these days that travellers abroad for business or pleasure, want the ability to make calls and surf the internet without having to worry about paying additional roaming charges. “Travelling abroad and using their devices as normally used, can cause customers to become afraid of high charges. With Celcom’s Wonderoam, customers can now more easily carry out their social media activities with no worries. “Our commitment is to enrich our customer’s lives with distinctive services that are delivered with a customer-centric attitude, and we want our subscribers to remain engaged on their social media apps. “Our Wonderoam will absolutely fulfil their data consumption needs when they opt for their preferred plans under the postpaid and prepaid range, as they travel to any of the supported countries.
The 1 day social plan is applicable to all Xpax Prepaid users and is available in 10 countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia and East Asia, RM10 per day offers 1GB for Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp, free 50MB Hi-Speed Internet and free 50MB Basic Internet. As for the 1 day internet RM38, subscribers daily quota allocation starts from 50MB onwards, postpaid users will be auto charged upon using the Internet service while connected to preferred networks as they roam in 165 countries, while prepaid subscribers will have their credit balance deducted upon the purchase via USSD *118#. Upon utilising the data, users will experience throttle down allowing basic services still usable, and can always opt for another one day add on. While the rate offered is about the same across other operators, Celcom has 2 operators to choose abroad and more countries listed compared to the other three.
Meanwhile, customers of First Gold and soon to be announced premium service with more data First Platinum, will be able to subscribe to the 1 week RM138 which gives 3GB data bundled with unlimited calls and unlimited SMS. The latest Platinum plan will be unveiled on 15 April. Zalman Aefendy said Celcom was confident that Wonderoam will broaden its appeal to Celcom customers and create an enhanced user experience for them as the company is always on the forefront in keeping up with the ever- evolving digital lifestyle and needs of its subscribers.
