Xiaomi 17T Series Lands In Malaysia With Leica 5x Zoom And Massive 7000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially unveiled its new Xiaomi 17T Series, introducing upgraded Leica-powered imaging, larger batteries and enhanced eye-care display technology as the brand pushes deeper into the premium smartphone segment.

The new lineup includes the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, marking the first time the T Series arrives in dual sizes. Both devices feature Leica-backed triple camera systems led by a 50MP main camera and, for the first time in the T Series lineup, a Leica 5x telephoto camera capable of macro photography, 10x optical-grade zoom and up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom.

A major highlight is the introduction of Leica Live Moment, a new feature designed to capture movement and emotion before and after a shot instead of focusing purely on still images. Xiaomi said the feature works across all rear camera focal lengths and is aimed at delivering more cinematic storytelling for social content creators and casual users alike.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro also becomes the first Xiaomi Series smartphone to support 4K 60fps cinematic telephoto recording, alongside specialised shooting modes designed for concerts and low-light environments.

Beyond photography, Xiaomi is also emphasising user comfort with its new Xiaomi Vision Care display technology. The series is equipped with 1.5K AMOLED displays with peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, while the Pro variant supports refresh rates up to 144Hz and hardware-level 1-nit brightness for low-light viewing.

Battery life is another major focus. The Xiaomi 17T Pro carries a 7000mAh battery, the largest ever on an international Xiaomi smartphone, paired with 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge support. The Xiaomi 17T comes with a 6500mAh battery and 67W HyperCharge.

In Malaysia, the Xiaomi 17T Pro starts from RM2,899 for the 256GB variant, while the Xiaomi 17T starts from RM2,399. Pre-orders run from May 28 to June 11 with free gifts including a Redmi Pad 2 and extended warranty offers while stocks last.
