Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, expanding its smartwatch ecosystem with enhanced health tracking, improved performance and AI-powered features designed to turn biometric data into more personalised guidance.
The new wearables, announced in London on 22 July 2026, feature the Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform, Samsung’s largest smartwatch battery capacity and its brightest displays yet, as the company aims to position smartwatches as proactive health companions rather than just fitness trackers.
Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is positioned as Samsung’s most advanced smartwatch to date, targeting users involved in outdoor activities and high-performance sports. The 47mm model comes with specialised tracking features including Trail Run, which monitors elevation, climbing progress and terrain impact, alongside Nutrition Alert that provides hydration guidance based on estimated sweat loss.
The watch also introduces diving capabilities with IP69K, 10 ATM and EN13319 certification, allowing users to track diving data including depth, duration and water temperature. Samsung said advanced diving features will be expanded through the Ultra2 Diving app developed with diving equipment brand Mares.
Powered by an 800 mAh battery, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 offers a 35% increase in capacity compared with its predecessor, while its display reaches 5,000 nits of brightness for improved visibility under direct sunlight. The device also features a slimmer titanium design despite its larger battery.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch9 focuses on everyday wellness with continuous health monitoring through Samsung’s BioActive sensor. The smartwatch introduces features including Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index and hearing health monitoring.
Samsung said the new AI-driven health features combine daily biometric data with research conducted alongside medical institutions to provide users with clearer insights into sleep, activity, cardiovascular health and recovery.
In Malaysia, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will retail at RM3,399, while Galaxy Watch9 starts from RM1,499 for the Bluetooth 40mm model. Pre-orders begin from 22 July, with general availability from 14 August.
