Gfk’s latest survey proofs that most consumers tend to gravitate to stylish looking designed tech products than those that skipped the Lagerfeld touch. On that same note here comes a new mobile phone brand that focuses on design as well as function for its smartphones that target the mid-range market.
Ladies and gentleman meet Obi WorldPhone, the latest addition to the expanding smartphone market. Born in Silicon Valley, Obi WorldPhone is actually the brainchild of former Apple John Sculley and Ammunition design founder Robert Brunner, who’s main angle for the phones are design and style. The SF1 and the SJ1.5 are two models currently being rolled out by the company, the phones are targeted at younger audience who prefer lower priced devices but still pack the features of premium models.
The higher spec SF1 comes in 5″ Full high definition with 443ppi as for camera a13 megapixel rear-camera LED flash with autofocus Sony Exmor RS Sensor found in the Xperia M5 Dual is fitted and a 5mp for the front. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor 64 bit Octa-Core and an Adreno 405 GPU.
Insides aside, the company is pushing the design element as the selling point with both models having all the style factor you would expect on an iPhone or a Samsung. The android phones will be available from October this year onwards reaching out to markets in Asia, Africa and Middle East.
