Google has unveiled its latest Pixel 11 series, bringing upgraded cameras, a new Tensor G6 chip and more proactive Gemini features across the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL.
The new phones start at 256GB of storage and introduce faster charging, built-in Pixelsnap and, on the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, Qi 2.2 25W compatibility. Google said the Pixel 11 Pro XL can gain up to 15 hours of battery life from 15 minutes of wired charging.
The Pixel 11 gets a larger 48MP main camera sensor with 56% more light sensitivity than the previous generation, while its 5x telephoto camera now supports 30x Super Zoom.
For the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, Google has introduced a new main camera sensor and an upgraded 48MP telephoto camera with 30% more light sensitivity. The Pro models also gain 5x Portrait Mode and Pro Zoom of up to 120x.
Low-light photography has also been upgraded, with Google’s redesigned Night Sight able to capture images up to 4.5 times faster, according to the company.
At the heart of the new devices is Tensor G6, which Google describes as its fastest and most powerful chip yet. The chip features 50% more TPU compute and can process on-device AI tasks up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy compared with Tensor G5.
Google said the new chip also enables 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches.
The Pro models introduce another new feature called HiLight, which uses coloured LEDs around the camera flash to provide glanceable notifications when the phone is face down. Different light patterns can indicate when Gemini is listening, thinking or responding, while users can assign colours to selected contacts for incoming calls.
The Pixel 11 series also receives a design refresh. Google said the camera bar on the standard Pixel 11 is 40% thinner, while the Pro models feature the company’s brightest-ever Super Actua display with peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits and a new anti-scratch coating.
The Pixel 11 is available in Pistachio, Hibiscus, Frost and Obsidian, while the Pro models come in Canyon, Fog, Olive and matte Obsidian.
On security, Google has introduced the Titan M3 security chip alongside Tensor G6, with post-quantum cryptography added to secure boot as part of its efforts to protect devices against emerging threats.
All three models will receive seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates from launch. Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL buyers will also receive six months of Google AI Pro for eligible users.
Pre-orders are now open, with the Pixel 11 starting at $1,499, Pixel 11 Pro at $1,849 and Pixel 11 Pro XL at $2,099 RRP. The devices will go on sale on Aug 20.
