Samsung Sells Off Entire Printer Business To HP

samaung-printersSamsung Electronics has reached an agreement to sell the entire global operations and assets of its printing business to HP, according to a released statement the company which has not gained much popularity in the printer business, would like to pay more focus on its core business.

The Printing Business Unit will be spun off to a separate company and upon approval from shareholders will be sold all 100% to HP. Uniquely, for the Korean market under an agreement, the printers will be still sold under Samsung brand but will be purchased from the American company. The business unit currently employs 6,000 employees with a production base in China as well as more than 50 sales offices globally.

HP CEO Jon Flexman, called the acquisition as the biggest print deal for HP and will now arm the company to go on a bold attack on the A3 multifunction printer market worth $55 billion.
