HP Completes Samsung Printer Business Purchase

Signed. Sealed. Printed. Samsung is no longer in the printing business and now has officially handed over the reigns to HP. The deal announced earlier this year has HP paying US$1.05 billion for the entire business, giving access to a new market segment.

Missing in its portfolio, A3 is seen as massive opportunity for growth in business printing with the acquisition HP can leverage its existing clientele with now an added product to offer. With this, the number one PC manufacturer plans to disrupt the US$55 billion A3 copier segment with a multifunction printing technology. Apart from benefiting from tapping into new business, the acquisition brings along a massive archive of over 6500 print patents and intellectual property. Including a steady string of experince team of nearly 1300 researchers and engineers with expertise in laser technology, imaging electronics.   

Customers can expect an integrated offering which includes HP’s next generation PageWide technology printers,security features like HP Connection Inspector, HP Sure Start, Run- time intrusion detection and whitelisting which will benefit customers on Samsung printers as well.
