After POCO India General Manager, C Manmohan confirmed at a webinar last month that the POCO F2 will not be rebranded as the Redmi K30 Pro, new rumours suggest other wise. According to the leaks, the POCO F2 is slated to launch as the global variant of the K30 Pro, sometime next month.

This comes from Xiaomi insider Xiaomishka, who says the global variant of the Redmi K30 Pro has the model number M2004J11G. But this re-branded K30 Pro will not come with 5G support, like the version sold in China. Xiaomishka also added that POCO is working on another smartphone, with model number M2003J6CI which is an all new device. This device will reportedly have something in common with the Redmi Note 9 series.
But these leaks only really tell us that the global version of the Redmi K30 Pro will debut as the POCO F2. Strange to see, and I can’t really understand the thought process. Previously, their Redmi K20 Pro, released globally and in Malaysia as the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. Okay you know what, never mind, I can see the confusion already. Naming conventions are tough, I know.
The other thing we actually do know about the POCO F2 is that it’ll be packing Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 processor. But we should probably forget about seeing a more affordable price point, especially when you take into consideration the original POCO F1.
