After a bunch of iPhone 12 leaks and rumours, we’ve now got some details into one of the more important details; the prices. Of course, we should add this isn’t the ‘official prices’ but it’s a benchmark for what to expect. These new price leaks also corroborate and are similar to previous pricing information from analyst Chung-Hoon Lee of UBI Research.

This new information comes courtesy of Jon Prosser, the same leaker who extensively leaked the iPhone SE 2020, including the price. According to Prosser, he got this new information from the same source who nailed the iPhone SE 2020 launch date.

For reference, the exact naming isn’t known so we’ll be referring to the iPhone 12 lineup with the previous naming conventions of the iPhone 11 lineup.

Firstly, the iPhone 12 Pro which features a 6.1-inch display will go for $999 (~RM4290) while the iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature a 6.7-inch screen fro $1099 (~RM4720). These prices are exactly the same for their predecessors, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The other two, including the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and smaller 5.4-inch iPhone 12 variant will be priced at $749 (~RM3200) and $649 (~RM2780) respectively. Prosser also mentioned that even these two cheaper iPhone’s will come with 5G support and OLED screens, as well as a dual camera setup.

Surprisingly, these are pretty tolerable prices for an iPhone. It’s not as absurd as I would’ve imagined, especially with the inclusion of 5G capabilities which Android manufacturers are charging a premium for. But for now, let’s be cautious of the information regarding the next-gen iPhone lineup. Considering the global crisis we’re facing, much of this can change in the coming months, including the availability dates.
