Buildings Go Blue Honoring Frontline Workers Sacrifice

Undeniably Malaysia was able to stem the spread of Covid 19 plaguing many nations around the world due to quick thinking health authorities and the tireless efforts of our frontliners. These men and women from doctors, nurses, police, hospital aides, and the military, responded to the call and placed themselves at risk, for the safety of the Malaysian people.

Honoring their sacrifice, buildings in Klang Valley has turned blue in acknowledging of the millions of frontliners and essential workers who toiled through the pandemic this past 3 months. The biggest support came from the King himself, the Istana Negara will be illuminated in blue lights for four nights from April 30 to May 3 from 10.30 pm to 1 am, as part of this solidarity campaign. This comes after Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has consented to Istana Negara joining the ‘Light it Blue’ campaign to express gratitude and to appreciate the sacrifices made by those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 fight.

Celcom Axiata Berhad’s corporate office has also joined the fray by turning blue at night, the tower located along the Federal Highway, illuminates with blue lights, as part of Malaysia’s and the global #LightItBlue initiative.

The effort aims to create a universal moment of solidarity and support, during a worrisome time of isolation and uncertainty.
