Huawei Gets Another Reprieve Till February 16th 2020; What A Joke Of A Ban

Huawei seems to have gotten another reprieve from the U.S’s ban of it’s products, according to new documents filed today in the U.S. Commerce Department. Huawei have been embattled with the U.S. since basically the start of the year, as they cited concerns of electronic espionage, and started ‘banning’ purchase of equipment from the Chinese tech firm. It was a matter of he said-she said as officials expressed concern that the Chinese government could exploit Huawei’s company to spy on Americans. They have since denied any such wrongdoings, multiple times.

After the initial announcement, Huawei and subsidiaries were granted licenses to contiune working with companies in the U.S. After the 90-day reprieve that ended in August, they were granted another, as they gave a reason that rural wireless carriers that relied on Huawei products needed more time to change their equipment.

The delay was going to end this week, but with the new documents that were filed, the U.S. will grant another extensions that will end on February 16th 2020.

“Extending the Temporary General License won’t have a substantial impact on Huawei’s business either way,” a Huawei spokesperson said in a statement.

“This decision does not change the fact that Huawei continues to be treated unfairly.”

I mean at this point, we pretty much know this ‘ban’ is quite impossible. Hopefully the U.S. stops being a pain in the a** because it’s affecting Huawei products around the WORLD, not just in the U.S. itself. And can they come to a decision already? Are you going to ban Huawei, or are you not, because this is already the 2nd or 3rd time (too many times that I’ve lost count) that they’ve issued a reprieve of this ban. This is, as mentioned time and time again, going to boil down to America and China working out a trade deal, with Huawei in the middle of it all.
