EVOS Legends Crowned The Champion Of The MLBB World Championships 2019 (M1)

It was an action-packed week for fans of the multiplayer online battle arena mobile game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), with Shanghai Moonton Technology hosting its first ever world championship – MLBB World Championship 2019 (M1).

The prestigious tournament (better known as M1) featured a total cash prize pool of USD 250,000. M1 consisted of 8 direct invited teams via Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) and 8 qualified teams via M1 qualifiers held across the globe, to bring out the ultimate top 16 MLBB teams. After their incredible battles during the recent Group Stages on 11 – 14 November 2019, the top 8 teams were then determined and they continued to battle it out at the grand stage of the Playoffs held on 15 – 17 November 2019 at the Axiata Arena.

The 8 teams that qualified from the Group Stages to the Playoffs were Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) (Indonesia), EVOS Legends (Indonesia), VEC Fantasy Main (Vietnam), Burmese Ghouls (Myanmar), Axis Esports (Malaysia), Todak (Malaysia), Sunsparks (Philippines) and 10second Gaming + (Japan).

With a 4 – 3 score against RRQ, EVOS Legends emerged as the first-ever MLBB world champion, taking home the bragging rights and a whopping USD 80,000 from the tournament’s prize pool.

“Our goal is to bring together individuals who have passion towards MLBB and E-Sports through M1. We have witnessed the large numbers of effort and training involved from our professional players who have strived their best for their dreams. We want to encourage everyone to create values for the things we love and to further realize our dreams. We also want to contribute what we can to the development of the entire E-Sports industry through M1,”

Justin Yuan, CEO of Shanghai Moonton Technology.

The M1 Playoffs were not only filled with non-stop MLBB action, but also tons of other activities. YB Tuan Syed Saddiq, Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, was M1’s guest of honor and came down to support the event on the grand finals day. On top of that, a spectacular cosplay performance was also held by the cosplayers at M1 during the grand finals day. And the best activity of all, lucky draw prizes and giveaways (18,000 items) worth USD 144,000++ were given away to the lucky attendees of the 3-day event.
