Back in October, we spoke about the Asia Pacific Predator League 2018, organised by Acer Predator. That tournament has since come to an end and Geek Fam emerge victorious after a rousing 2-1 finish against  BOOM ID from Indonesia. This marks Geek Fam’s second consecutive first place finish, after capturing the ZOTAC Cup Premier: Dota2 SEA last month.

As the tournament was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, it was a bitter pill for BOOM ID to swallow, losing on home turf. To make matters worse, BOOM ID lost to Geek Fam twice, the first of which occurred in the Winner Bracket Final. This placed Geek Fam in the confirmed top-two finish while BOOM ID went up against Quid Pro Quo from The Philippines, a relatively new team into the scene.

Of course, BOOM ID won that series in a convincing 2-1 win, which sets up the rematch.

The Asia Pacific Predator league 2018 held qualifiers in eight different countries, looking for eight different finalists. Aside from the top three finishers, other teams included Alpha Red from Thailand, Ten Twenty from Singapore, Azure eSports from Hong Kong, Signify from India and We Say NO! from Sri Lanka.

Of course, this isn’t part of the Valve Pro Circuit, which means there aren’t any Qualifying Points to be given out. However, that doesn’t mean the prize money was nonexistent as Geek Fam walked home with US$50,000 while BOOM ID took away US$25,000 and Quid Pro Quo settled for US$15,000.
