A few years ago, Gmail’s Labs – where most of their experimental features can be found – experimented with “Unsend”. Today, it’s standard on the browser version of Gmail and millions of users take advantage of it to stop angry, unedited, or poorly thought-out emails right before they get into their intended (or unintended) inboxes. Now, it’s reported that Whatsapp’s going through the same phase. They’re testing a feature that’ll let users cancel a message they didn’t mean to send. This feature was first reported by @WABetaInfo, who posted a tweet showing that version 2.17.1.869 of WhatsApp on iOS allowed messages with a single tick (sent, but not delivered) to be “Revoked” with a long press.

It’s still in its early stages of testing, so don’t expect to see it for a while. In fact, if it doesn’t work out the way they plan, don’t expect to see it ever.
