“What’s the fastest route to work?”
“I’m Batman”
Imagine hearing that voice navigating you to wherever you need to go. Pretty, cool right? Now I’ll be honest, I always get annoyed when people use the annoying tone-deaf singing voice on a navigation application. Why would you want to hear that all day?
You know what voices would be cooler? Batman. You can never go wrong with Batman and Waze is doing just that. The latest guests to make their temporary mark on the navigation app are Batman and the Riddler. Unfortunately, this is only for a limited time but wow do I wish this would last longer.
These two new voices will only be available until 31 October (Hey just in time for Halloween). This is in conjunction with the upcoming Batman Day (there’s a Batman Day?) which falls on September 21. Kevin Conroy will voice Batman for the app and has voiced the character in multiple movies and video games like Arkham series.
The Riddler’s voice will also be familiar if you’ve played the Batman Arkham games, as Wally Wingert reprises his role for this special navigation voice. Can you imagine The Riddler giving you directions? Or instead he’ll just give you riddles. Good luck trying to figure where you’re going if that actually happens.
Waze has also added the Batmobile and Riddler’s Racer for you to use as your car icons like the photo above, now that’s cute. There are also two special Spotify playlists for you to play when you pick either side. These consist of tracks from various films and TV series and Batman’s playlist is definitely the longer of the two, consisting of just shy of 900 tracks. Probably metal or emo songs mostly.
Now I’m excited to try these new voices on the app. Can’t wait to drive around with a hero or villain in the car. What do you guys think? Which of these voices do you want to navigate you?
