If you own a console or even play video games in general you’d know that most systems allow you to change your mind when it comes to pre-orders. For example, if you click on pre-order and then realise that you know what, this was a mistake (sort of like my last relationship), you can just opt to cancel your pre-order and not get charged.

That being said, Nintendo’s corporate policy when it comes to their Switch games is notoriously bad. You’re basically charged the second you click on that pre-order now button and that’s that. Refunds? Not in our vocabulary! pretty much sums up their approach. All that is about to change though.

The company has made an announcement in which it claims that it will no longer be taking your money the moment you hit that pre order button, meaning that refunds are now on the menu! How it’ll now work is the company will only charge your card no sooner than seven days before the games official release. This gives you a healthy week to be the fickle minded person you are :’)

This will most definitely encourage more pre orders of Switch games given that people now know that they’re not bound to make a purchase. The new policy starts today so the pre-order experience you’ve always wanted from Nintendo is now live. Have fun!
