Now that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are official, we have to see how it stacks against other smartphones in its categories, as well as its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Check out the comparison tables below to see how the phone fair against the competition.

As you can see, the specs of the current Samsung Galaxy S7 and the new Samsung Galaxy S8 are kind of similar, except in regards of the screen and body size. You get more screen (5.8 inches vs 5.2 inches) in a body that is only roughly 10 percent bigger. The screen is also now a 18.5:9 aspect ration against the older 16:9.

The same story repeats with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge against the new Samsung Galaxy S8+. As both the phones features edge screens, the monicker is no longer appropriate. Hence, the S8+. Here again you get more screen (6.2 inches against the older 5.5 inches) in a body that is a bit larger than the outgoing model.

When compared to its contemporaries, the Samsung Galaxy S8 shows its worth here. It is barely wider than the P10 and iPhone 7, but you get more screen for your buck.

The larger Samsung Galaxy S8+ is just a smidgen larger than the iPhone 7 Plus, but you get roughly 20 percent more screen real-estate and about a whopping 40 percent more pixels against the iPhone 7 Plus. That is a big jump.
