The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Gets The ‘Satin Snake’ Treatment & Boy Does It Look Good

It may have released 35 years ago, but the Air Jordan 1 remains one of the most iconic silhouettes in the Jordan Brand portfolio. It’s really not hard to understand why given its design, which appeals to almost everyone whether you’re a basketball fan, sneakerhead or just your average joe.

That being said, Jordan Brand is all set to release a brand new “Satin Snake” makeup for its beloved AJ 1 Retro High OG. The sneaker utilizes the familiar red, black and white colours thats been seen on many other AJ1’s and actually kind of looks like the AJ1 OG Black Toe, except instead of a black toe box accent, it’s the heel counter that gets the black treatment.

Thats not the only treatment the heel counter gets. With the front of sneaker looking like your average Jordan 1’s, it gets a whole lot more luxurious as you make your way to the back, and it starts with the black snakeskin print swoosh. The snakeskin print makes its way all the way to the heel and collar flaps as well, with the throat constructed from silky red satin.

One thing that complements the whole “luxury” look is the thinner than usual laces. It may not seem like much but it makes the silhouette look less bulky. Of course, no AJ1 is complete without the ball and wings logo on the outer collar flaps.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Satin Snake” is scheduled to drop on the 15th of August on the Nike SNKRS app and will reportedly go for US$170. Best secure a pair for yourself at retail price because these are sure to be snapped up by resellers looking to make a buck.
