How many of you have seen Avengers: Infinity War? If you haven’t, well, what are you waiting for? Perhaps the best villain we’ve seen in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, Thanos is also a playable character in Fortnite! Well, for a short while anyway.

Big bad Thanos is playable in the new ‘Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup’ mode. It’s pretty much the same as Fortnite’s standard battle royale mode, except that there’s also an Infinity Gauntlet! His fist of fury will spawn somewhere on the map. Players who find and put it on, will get all of Thanos’s powers! Okay maybe not all, I don’t think Epic will allow someone to snap their fingers and erase half the players. What exactly those powers remains a mystery, although you can log in to Fortnite right now and find out!
This special mode came about as Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo play Fortnite themselves. “Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games. And then we started thinking, how cool would it be to have some kind of Avengers–Fortnite mashup?” says Joe.
