Prone to dropping your phone and cracking the screen? Well there’s a solution for that. Galaxy S8 Active, hailed to be Samsung’s toughest Galaxy Smartphone yet, features reliable durability with the same performance expected of the normal Galaxy smartphones.

This device is said to be shock-, shatter-, water-, and dust-resistant. The metal frame and bumper is designed to protect against shock, abrasion, tilting or twisting. It’s also noted to be constructed with military-grade materials. The smartphone will be available in either Meteor Gray or Titanium Gold.

The phone will come with Bixby out of the box. The phone also features something called the Activity Zone, where users can just swipe or press a button, and the Hello Bixby home screen greets you with quick access to active lifestyle features such as a stopwatch, barometer, compass, and flashlight.

The screen is shatter-resistant screen that provides a protective layer for the 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Display. It comes int a 18.5:9 aspect ratio. One significant advantage this has over the regular S8, would be the bigger battery at 4000mAh. The phone sports a 12MP F1.7 Dual Pixel rear camera and 8MP F1.7 Smart autofocus front camera.

Powered by Samsung Knox, the phone uses a defense-grade mobile security platform, with biometric features such as fingerprint and iris scanners, not unlike the S8.

The only catch, the Active version is only available in the US at the moment. We could really use those military grade specs here too. Or for any country in the world. We are all accident prone when it comes to phones…..Please?
