FUJIFILM is pushing its instant photography line further into digital territory with the new instax Pal 2, a compact camera that combines digital capture with physical instax prints.
Priced at RM648, the instax Pal 2 features 30 built-in creative effects and can connect with instax Link printers to produce physical prints in Mini, SQUARE and WIDE formats.
It also introduces an instax Animation feature, allowing users to capture sequences that can be turned into flipbook-style digital clips for sharing.
The camera is part of FUJIFILM’s wider push to connect digital photography with the physical experience of instant film, showcased through its current collaboration with streetwear retailer atmos in Kuala Lumpur.

Running until Oct 25 at atmos Mid Valley Megamall, the “Street in Focus” showcase also features the RM748 instax Link WIDE 2 smartphone printer.
The Link WIDE 2 allows users to select up to six smartphone images and use its Photo Mixer feature to automatically crop and combine them into a single wide-format print.
The printer was released locally on Sept 29, while pre-orders for the instax Pal 2 began on Oct 5.
Alongside the digital products, the collaboration marks 40 years of FUJIFILM’s QuickSnap with two new single-use film cameras, the QuickSnap Black and White and QuickSnap Active.
Both are priced at RM118, with the Active model offering waterproofing for use at depths of up to 10 metres.
The collaboration also includes a Kuala Lumpur street photography exhibition featuring works from 50 participants.
