PUBG Mobile has launched its Version 3.9 Update, bringing a wave of new content headlined by a high-profile collaboration with Transformers, a neon-soaked cyberpunk mode and a string of gameplay upgrades including new weapons, boss fights and social features. The update is available starting today through Sept 2, 2025.
The Transformers-themed mode allows players to summon Optimus Prime or Megatron into battle, each with transformable abilities, ultimate skills and in-game duel arenas on Erangel. Energon, a collectable resource, powers up these characters and unlocks enhanced combat features. Players can also choose sides: Team Optimus Prime or Team Megatron to complete missions and unlock exclusive rewards.
A new Neon Outpost zone introduces cyberpunk visuals and gameplay, including robot-riding features, black markets with futuristic items and an intense Astro Den melee arena. Meanwhile, the Metro Royale Zombie Uprising mode receives major changes with tiered monsters, genetic code hatching and rare weapons that carry over to future seasons.
A new Ranked Arena mode (July 24 –Sept 2) lets players climb through 28 competitive tiers across various combat maps. The 3D Social Hub also debuts, offering interactive zones, mini-games and expanded emotes like hand-holding and piggyback rides.
Additional highlights include the new Paint Gun in World of Wonder, the ASM Abakan rifle in Classic Mode and the arrival of the Ice Dragon Boss. In Home Mode, players can now play Mancala, earn rewards through missions and compete for top-tier parking spots.
The update also marks the beginning of Cycle 9 Season 25, with fresh legendary items and revamped tier progression. PUBG Mobile continues to blend nostalgia with innovation, reinforcing its standing as one of the world’s most downloaded mobile battle royale games.
