MSI has announced the introduction of a new HDR mode called EOTF Boost across its OLED monitor range, offering users brighter visuals compared to the existing HDR1000 mode.

According to the company, EOTF Boost delivers enhanced brightness under the same Average Picture Level (APL) conditions, giving users a more vivid display experience when enabled via the on-screen display (OSD) menu.

The feature comes pre-installed on MSI’s latest OLED monitors, including the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 and the upcoming MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50. MSI also confirmed that older OLED models will receive the EOTF Boost function through a firmware update starting in August.
