News on Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC 2018) are starting to appear; the latest being the Sony Mobile video teaser. Indeed, besides official hints appearing from Samsung before its main event, other brands are sharing their own teasers.
With the Sony Mobile video teaser, it hints at the possibility of new flagships as curvy-wave appears in the video, as shown below:

This can mean two things. First, it could mean Sony Mobile is finally trying out a new curved form factor for its upcoming devices. If not, it could also mean new attempts at improved sound delivery. After all, Sony Mobile is the one of the only few left to use front-firing stereo speakers. It is also the first to introduce Hi-Res audio on smartphones.
What’s more interesting is how this could be a break-away from tradition. Usually, top-end flagships from Sony Mobile appear after the mid-year, while mid-range contenders show up at MWC.

However, for 2018, the more affordable entries – all proper flagships in their own right – makes a showing at CES 2018 instead. What Sony Mobile is doing for MWC 2018 is likely a continuation of its new strategies.
Let’s hope it’ll be a neat surprise for all to see at MWC 2018.
