Maxis Rewards its Students through its eKelas Programme

Maxis eKelas celebrates another milestone by rewarding its first-ever Anugerah Gemilang eKelas to students who have shown improvement in their studies through the eKelas programme. All students who have participated in the eKelas programme provided by Pusat Internet 1Malaysia (PI1M) is eligible for this award, which was first launched in November 2017.

To qualify for the award, students are to achieve a minimum of one grade improvement in three subjects taught in the eKelas programme, primarily English, Science and Mathematics. The improvements are based on mid-year exam results and final year exam results, or PT3 results for form three students.

11 students were chosen to receive the Anugerah Gemilang eKelas award but only three showed improvement in all three subjects. Because of their achievements, each of the three students received a school starter pack and a cash contribution worth RM1,200, which will be deposited into their respective National Education Savings Scheme (Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional 1Malaysia).

The other eight students showed improvement in two subjects while retaining the same grade in the third. This scored them a RM600 cash contribution to their National Education Savings Scheme as well as a school starter pack.

An after-school digital learning initiative, Maxis eKelas’ goal is to improve a student’s academic performance in both rural and urban communities. It offers a combination of live tutorials, group learning and interactive digital content, which is the same as the Malaysian School Syllabus. As of right now, Maxis eKelas has a total of 4,000 students.
