Dolby sound technology will be coming to OPPO products very soon with the announcement of a new collaboration with the world expert in audio technology used in cinema’s and audio equipment’s. The co-operation will see OPPO collaborate on Dolby’s High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (HE AAC), JPEG-HDR and other audio and video technologies.
High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding is an international standard for audio encoding authorised for use by Dolby Laboratories to hundreds of companies around the world. JPEG-HDR is part of the static image encoding standard whilst also storing data in a highly dynamic range of more than 8 bits so users can sample the entire range during post-processing.
The process will enable OPPO to tap into Dolby’s vast expertise in coding and playback capabilities which the company can in return use for the development of new audio and smartphones. A nice addition to the company as its celebrates its 10th anniversary in the smartphones business.
