LG Expands OLED TV Lineup at CES2015.
CES officially begins tomorrow, but companies are already announcing their latest and greatest in consumer electronics today! Case in point, LG has just unveiled that they are expanding their lineup of OLED TVs.
A total of seven different 4K OLED TV models, spanning from 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch sizes, will be introduced to its expanded OLED TV lineup, all of them utilising the company’s proprietary WRGB technology which boasts an incredible 33 million sub-pixels to produce the most lifelike colours and infinite contrast ratio. Other clever features such as LG’s Optimized True Colour technology ensure that images are rendered with perfect blacks and perfect colours. With a maximum response time of 0.001ms, LG’s OLED TVs are more than 1,000 times faster than conventional LCD flat panel TVs, which translates to blur-free viewing no matter how fast the action gets on the screen.
To complement the visual prowess of LG’s OLED TVs, the TVs will feature advance sound technology developed in partnership with audio expert Harman/Kardon, guaranteeing that the flawless picture quality is complemented with deep, rich sound. Improving the TV experience further is LG’s proprietary smart TV platform, which delivers a simpler, easier and more intuitive experience with an enhanced user interface and a raft of impressive features. LG’s webOS 2.0 takes simplicity and convenience to a whole new level with reduced boot time and the upgraded platform allows users to optimise menus on the Launcher Bar, making it easier than ever to add and delete favorite items.
LG’s focus on creating the slimmest TV possible while keeping the overall aesthetic simple and minimal has resulted in the Art Slim design philosophy. This design is meant to accentuate the simplicity and unobstructiveness of LG’s TVs in contrast to the curved TV’s beauty and elegance.
“Making this superb TV technology available to more consumers is what drives LG’s innovation. LG believes this is where the future of television is headed and we’re going to continue developing and expanding our OLED offerings until it becomes a viable option for all consumers,” says In-kyu Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of the TV and Monitor Division at LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.
