On the heels of the Kirin 980 announcement and the official unveiling of the launch date, the Huawei Mate 20 family is set to be one of the most anticipated phones of 2018. At the recent IFA 2018 in Berlin, real life images of the Mate 20 Pro was captured, confirming some features of the 2018 flagship.
For one, the cameras of the Mate 20 Pro is now arrange in a 2 x 2 array along with the flash. Unlike the P20 Pro which has the camera arrange on a single side, the Mate 20 Pro looks to have the camera at the centre of the back. It was housed in a disguise case, but the new camera arrangement gave it away.

Also missing from both sides of the phone are cutouts for a fingerprint scanner. This suggests that the phone will instead feature an in-screen fingerprint reader like the one on the Vivo NEX. Other rumoured features of the phone includes a facial recognition camera array on the top and maintaining the use of a curved OLED for the display panel.

The Kirin 980 will be the SoC of choice of the Mate 20 Pro alongside the Mate 20. As October 16 is still a month away, we will have more time to speculate and anticipate what the Huawei Mate 20 series will offer to consumers at launch.
