Sony recently launched their latest shooting grip, the new GP-VPT2BT, to complement their growing lineup of cameras and accessories to cater to modern creators. The GP-VPT2BT actually looks pretty cool considering it’s compact, and it’s got no wires dangling off it or connected to the camera, which makes it a more interesting proposition. It’s built for basically any kind of photography or videography, but it makes the process all the more efficient. It makes for a more stable and comfortable experience, as well as being cable-free and dust & moisture design.

The GP-VPT2BT is compatible with a bunch of Sony’s latest digital cameras, and it connects via Bluetooth wireless technology. It includes a tilt feature which allows for flexible vertical angle adjustments, as well as the ability to switch from normal to self-shooting modes easily. It also has an adjustment wheel which can be loosened or tightened to make it more compatible with cameras of different sizes and form factors.

There’s also a flip button, indicator light and lock switch and it can even turn into a tripod! Well, a small tripod anyway. The only reason I’m really writing about this is because I’ve never been a believer in grips (or more like I never had to) but being a wireless one, does make it stand out.

• Compatible with α9 II, α9, α7R IV, α7R III, α7 III, α6600, α6400, α6100, RX100 VII, and RX0 II.
• Firmware must be updated on cameras to ensure compatibility.

The GP-VPT2BT Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander will be available in Malaysia from January 2020.
