
LinkedIn is ubiquitous for businesses and those in corporate settings, the social app built for professionals it has connected and networked millions of individuals throughout the world. Since been acquired, parent company Microsoft has slowly integrated its own business philosophy, giving the solution more avenues to serve its customers.
This was quite evident when the Malaysian government tapped LinkedIn to assist in the talent issue plaguing the country. In pursuing to understand better on how the largest business network app works, a delegation from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and its agencies, led by Deputy Secretary- General Dato Sri Norazman Ayob, visited the headquarters of LinkedIn. The visit was hosted by Dan Shapero, Head of Global Solutions and other senior management executives from LinkedIn including officials accompanying the Minister, Datuk Zainal Amanshah, CEO of InvestKL and Datuk Azman Mahmud, CEO of MIDA. One of the key aspects of the visit was to see how LinkedIn can support the Malaysian government to achieve its key policy and economic objectives through its products and solutions, with a focus on learning and harnessing data insights from the app.
“Having the correct set of talent is important for the economic growth of any country. LinkedIn’s capabilities will help the government’s push to embrace Industry 4.0. I am happy LinkedIn is setting up their office in KL and InvestKL will be ready to assist them” said InvestKL CEO Datuk Zainal Amanshah.
LinkedIn announced in December that they will be opening their office in Kuala Lumpur to serve more than four million members in the country and to support small and medium businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
