The action camera GoPro has been a hit among travellers and thrill seekers. A small yet good quality camera to capture what you’re doing on the go. I have friends who always uses them whenever they go travelling or when they’re extreme things like skateboarding or bungee jumping.
But sometimes you want to do a live broadcast of your adventures and your phone or other devices may not be as convenient. But now you can put those worries behind as GoPro is adding a live streaming feature for you to be able to broadcast your crazy antics live for your viewers.
Previously, you can actually do live streaming with GoPro but you would need a third-party service such as Amazon’s Twitch, Alphabet’s YouTube and Facebook. Not the most convenient, sometimes you just want to get straight to it without needing these third party services.
Now with GoPro’s premium service, GoPro Plus, users can upload unlimited photos and videos to the cloud, and its new service will allow about 400,000 premium subscribers broadcast directly from the platform.

Is it available on all GoPro cameras? It is reported that the Hero8 Black, Hero7 Black, or Max cameras and the ones where members can now live stream high-quality video to GoPro.com.
“We are really excited to offer high-quality, simplified live streaming to GoPro Plus subscribers. GoPro Plus subscribers can now live stream from their GoPro camera to their account at GoPro.com, text the live stream link to their family and friends, and boom … they’re LIVE,” said GoPro Founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman in a press release.
The Covid-19 outbreak has hit the camera company big time because there were the decreasing number of people going out to travel so there was little need to purchase a GoPro camera. GoPro earlier this month posted a 54.1% fall in second-quarter revenue but said it expected to benefit from sales of higher-tier products and growth in subscription revenue.
If you could purchase a GoPro camera, what would you want to live stream? The travel hotspot you’re currently at or would you livestream something extreme like skydiving? I would probably broadcast me sleeping. That’s fun right?
