After Spending Years Literally Living Up To Its Name, Left 4 Dead 2 FINALLY Gets An Update

Believe it or not, it’s been more than ten years since Valve released Left 4 Dead 2, which at the time was quite literally the hottest game around. The whole zombie apocalypse genre is what it is today because of Left 4 Dead 2 and while it remained hot amongst gamers for years after its release, it’s sort of fizzled out I recent years.

One of the major reasons for that is the fact that it’s not been updated in over a decade. That’s right. There was talk about a Left 4 Dead 3 at one point but that didn’t exactly happen so for the longest time, it seemed like the Left 4 Dead title was quite literally being left for dead.

That being said though, Valve has just shared a trailer for an update to the game called The Last Stand on its blog.

According to Valve’s post, “It has been many years since the infection first hit. Radio silence, no sign of life, nothing but lingering hopes… CEDA is not going to save us. But there is hope! A few brave souls have continued the fight against all odds, and soon we can all benefit from their resilience.”

Other than that, the company hasn’t actually released much details. Heck, we don’t even know when the update will drop. It’s worth noting that Valve barely had anything to do with this update as it was a community-made effort and even Valve admits as much, saying that it was “created by the community, for the community.”

Regardless of whether or not its community made though, it still has Valve’s stamp of approval which essentially makes it the first official addition to the game in years. I for one, am over the moon about this update, what about you? Let us know in the comments
