Fujifilm is officially launching the Instax Square SQ6, its brand-new Instax camera. It is Fujifilm’s first analogue Instax camera that uses the square format film. This Malaysia launch simultaneously with Japan, making Malaysians one of the earliest to enjoy the new camera.
Yoshitaka Nakamura, Fujifilm Malaysia’s Managing Director says, “With the launch of the SQ6, our sales will be extraordinarily high; specifically, 9 million units globally in FY2018. This is about four times higher to what FY2013 put out. We strongly believe that this segment will continue to grow and thrive to meet the growing market demands. At the same time, it will also offer users a fun and unique way to express their creativity via prints.”
Nakamura adds: “Fujifilm has always inspired users to print out their pictures and explore the joy of photo printing. We hope that the launch of Instax Square SQ6 will help boost sales of Fujifilm’s Instax series. In fact, I sincerely hope it will encourage Malaysians to discover how enjoyable instant photography is.”
The Instax Square SQ6 has a number of functions and features that make it an impressive device. It has auto exposure adjustment that works automatically when users engage the shutter button. Don’t worry about low light conditions too; it can detect the surrounding brightness levels and adjusts accordingly. This allows for optimal shutter speed and flash intensity.
On top of that, the Instax Square SQ6 has a selfie mode for when one feels a little vain. When using the selfie mode, it will automatically adjust settings to get the best shots. There’s even a self-shot mirror on the side of the lens; this is for checking shooting range as well as tripod holes and timer functionality.
Furthermore, users can use the ‘Double Exposure Mode’ allowing for two photos overlapped on one piece of film. Similarly, there’s also the ‘Macro Mode’ allowing for short-range photography. The ‘Landscape Mode’ meanwhile lets users take long range landscape shots.
The Instax Square SQ6 is retailing at RM598 for now as an early bird deal. This package includes a suede case, twin pack square film, and a CR2 rechargeable battery.
