One of 2019’s hit anime, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has officially unveiled an upcoming game with a debut trailer.
The game, titled Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppuutan, is being developed by CyberConnect2. The company is well known for creating great anime games.
Their most prominent work includes Asura’s Wraith, the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series, and its latest game Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, where they recently announced their upcoming DLC for Spring 2020.
The animation for the game honestly looks so good and very much like from the anime itself. While not much gameplay was shown, the game is reportedly a “demon-slaying action game”.
From that description, it’s not clear if it’s going to be an open-world or a semi-open world game, like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
The game will be released for PS4 in 2021, or perhaps for the PS5 if Sony’s release window sticks to being holiday 2020. At the moment, it doesn’t seem it will be released for either Xbox One or PC.
But that’s not all!
Apart from the console game, a mobile game was also announced for both iOS and Android.
Titled Kimetsu no Yaiba: Keppu Kengeki Royale, the mobile game is, as the name sort of implies, a battle royale game.
No other details were revealed other than another trailer that is entirely in Japanese, with many footages borrowed from the anime.
Gameplay footage was shown starting at the one-minute mark and shows off animation of characters running and doing some battles.
Both games will be published by Aniplex, with Ufotable and Shueisha serving as producers.
The mobile game is due to release later this year.
