Covid-19 Graph Show Early Signs Of Improvement

IN a press conference today, Deputy General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham shared the latest update on Malaysia’s fight against the Covid 19 and the good news is there is early signs showing improvement in the efforts undertaken by the MOH. Presenting to the media the graph of cases against recovery compiled over the 14 days of the Movement Control Order, the image showed the cases plateauing the last week while a projection showed continued upward.

This is the first time the DG has spoken about recovery and stabilization in his daily briefing who often is careful with his words not to have the public let their guards down. However, he stressed while the signs are encouraging, we still have to monitor the critical 2 weeks in phase 2 if we want get out of this situation more confidently. Total cases in Malaysia is inching towards the 3000 bracket with 142 new cases today and 2 deaths. MOH has ramped up its efforts to conduct more testing across the country, nearly every state is now capable of testing for Covid 19. On top of this the arrival of the Rapid test kits will enable even clinics to test patients pushing the testing capacity to tens of thousands a day.

Malaysia has been in lockdown since March 14 with the extension of another 14 days which will last till April 14, many are already feeling the anxiety of staying indoors with the enforced order enacted from April 1, this bit of news will surely be welcome. The onus is now on every single person in the country to keep their distance and break the virus chain from spreading. We are not out of the woods yet neither we are lost in the woods, as long as there is no spike in cases within these week or so, we could be seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
