There Are At Least Two Kids In India Who Are Going To Grow Up Hating Their Parents

As Covid-19 sweeps through India, a country with a population of 1.3 billion people, many are hoping that it comes and goes like the wind. Some however, are keeping the memory of the pandemic with them for the rest of their lives.

With the country well into a total lockdown, parents are getting creative with the names of their children. The people in Uttar Pradesh, India seem to be especially fond of the pandemic given that some of them are literally naming their kids after the coronavirus pandemic. On monday, the unluckiest baby boy in the world was born in Khukhundu village. I say this because his parents in their infinite wisdom decided to name him “Lockdown”.

Yup.

“He was born during lockdown. We appreciate Prime Minister Narendra Modi”s efforts to enforce lockdown and save the people from Corona pandemic. The lockdown is in national interest and so we decided to name the child as Lockdown,” said the baby’s father Pawan.

Lil Lockdown isn’t alone in the coronavirus themed name department. Just last week, a baby girl, who also happens to be born in Uttar Pradesh was named “Corona” by her uncle. His reasoning for naming her after a virus thats almost 50,000 people to date is because ”Corona” has unified the world on this issue.

“The virus is no doubt dangerous and it has killed so many people in the world, but it has also inculcated many good habits in us and brought the world closer. This baby will be the symbol of people’s unity to fight the evil,” he said.

As you’d expect, both babies have become the talk of their respective villages. The only way this could get any better is if Lockdown and Corona somehow find each other, fall in love, get hitched and have a baby which they will of course, have to call “Virus”.

As it stands, 1,637 people in India have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, with 45 deaths and 148 recoveries.
