Command & Conquer Is Getting A 4K Remastered Collection And I’m Not Freakin’ READY For It

Command & Conquer was one of many real-time strategy (RTS) games that I played back when I was a kid. That alongside Age of Empires and Age of Mythology was my go to whenever my mom let me have ‘computer time’. And now, it looks like EA will be remastering Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and Command & Conquer: Red Alert, and they’ll be coming out in June 2020.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is also coinciding with their 25th anniversary (holy sh*t I’m old) and will feature Command & Conquer: Tiberian DawnCommand & Conquer: Red Alert and their three expansion packs – Cover OpsCounterstrike and The Aftermath. It features rebuilt graphics and textures to support the 4K resolution, and a seven-hour soundtrack remastered by the original composer, Frank Klepacki. Other updates include a revamped UI, updated controls, and a Map Editor for fans to build pretty much whatever kind of base you want. There will also be multiplayer for a modern online experience with custom games, 1v1 quick match, Elo-based matchmaking, and more.

“Our team has been working hand-in-hand with the C&C community since day one and we hope this transparent dialogue will result in the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection being a love letter to our fans,” said Jim Vessella, Lead Producer at EA.

“We’re taking the classic gameplay that ushered in a new era of the RTS genre and adding the most fan requested features like Skirmish mode for Tiberian Dawn, quality of life control improvements, and full Steam integration with UGC support. For me personally, having been a C&C fan since I was 12 years old in 1995, working with the original Westwood Studios team members at Petroglyph has been a dream come true.”

The Command & Conquer Remaster Collection will be available worldwide on 5th June on PC via Origin and Steam as well as being a part of an Origin Access Premier subscription.

On Steam, the game retails for RM79, but weirdly enough on Origin it’s US$26.90 (RM114) for the standard version, the US$59.99 (RM254) for the special edition and US$149.99 (RM636) for their 25th anniversary edition. There are some extra goodies and merch for the digital and physical editions, so check out the link here to see what exactly you can get with your purchases.
