Sharp goes beyond 4K.
As 4K slowly becomes the norm, TV companies are trying their best to outdo each other in terms of visual quality for their televisions. Sharp is one of these companies, and their method of one-upping the other TVs is by going beyond 4K as they announced the 80-inch AQUOS Beyond 4K Ultra HD TV.
To achieve this ‘Beyond 4K’ experience, Sharp is utilising its Quattron tech to cut pixels in half vertically and let subpixels create their own colour value, leading to a near-8k (7,680 x 4,320) effective picture.
If that sounds like a gimmick, fret not, as Sharp is showcasing a legitimate 8K TV on the CES show floor.
