Another big name to make its announcement during CES 2018 in Las Vegas, HP introduces a wide range of products that includes its HP Spectre x360 15, its HP ENVY x2 and its HP Pavilion Wave to name a few. The HP Omen also makes its appearance with its partnership with NVIDIA for its very own BFGD monitor.
HP Spectre x360 15
One of the more premium devices to come out from HP is its Spectre x360 15. A unique device on its own, the Spectre x360 15 is not only known for its use of premium materials, but also being a powerful convertible PC. Of course, the Spectre x360 15 has been around the market for quite some time, but HP has decided to give it a face lift in terms of its hardware.
At its core, users will get the choice of two different specs for the Spectre x360 15. The first will feature the 8th Generation Intel Core i7 8705G processor, which will pair with the Radeon RX Vega M graphics. The other option carries a quad core 8th Generation Intel Core processor as well, but this time utilising NVIDIA GeForce MX 150 graphics. Both specs promise a long-serving battery life on a single charge alongside Fast Charge technology.
In terms of design, the Spectre x360 15 features a new colourway in Dark Ash Silver with Copper Luxe accents. It also features a new angular profile at only 19.5mm and weighs only 2.09kg. The body of the Spectre x360 15 is built from aluminium CNC machined chassis and it also comes with sleek geared hinges. This allows the laptop to seamlessly switch between its many modes like laptop, entertainment and tablet.
The Spectre x360 15 also features some design changes, one of which concerns the speakers, which now sit above the keyboard. For its display, it carries a 15.6-inch 4K UHD with diagonal touch alongside a HP Tilt Pen. Covering the display is a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display that is scratch-resistant, ensuring you can bring it wherever you go without any worries.
The Spectre x360 15 has been confirmed to be releasing via hp.com this coming 18 March 2018.
HP ENVY x2
Made for the road warriors and people who are constantly working outside of the office, the ENVY x2 is an always-connected PC while remaining thin, lightweight and durable. It features a fan-less CNC machined aluminium tablet that weighs only 0.76kg and is 7.9mm thin.
There is also a 12.3-inch diagonal touch WUXGA+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, which increases durability and scratch resistance. It features an Oxford Blue leather-like textured case that also comes with a kickstand, which turns it into a laptop.
The ENVY x2 is capable of lasting up to 17 hours on a single charge and is capable of connecting with a LTE-Advanced support option with Intel XMM LTE modems. The laptop will also house the 7th Generation Intel Core Y-Series processors, which are optimised for maximum performance as well as carrying up to 256GB PCIe SSD storage. Multi-tasking capabilities can also be done with its 8GB LPDDR3 memory.
The ENVY x2 will be coming out in Spring 2018.
HP Pavilion Wave
HP’s own take on a desktop PC, the Pavilion Wave has its own way of standing out from the crowd with the help of Amazon Alexa. Not only can it now deliver on its audio experience but it also comes with voice integrations.
While its design may stay the same, the Pavilion Wave is now enhanced with voice command. This unique desktop is built with a fully integrated, advanced audio system which can play music and listen to movies. With the help of voice integration and Amazon Alexa, you now have complete control over the Pavilion Wave with just your voice. You can now control your music, smart home devices, alarms, timers and more, while working.
To know Alexa is listening, there will be a custom LED built-in to the Pavilion Wave, which will indicate when Alexa is listening to you. Thanks to the collaboration between Intel and Amazon engineers, Intel Smart Sound Technology helps to deliver a hands-free experience while delivering a 360° multi-directional reflective audio. This allows your voice to be heard from just about any angle possible.
The Pavilion Wave has been confirmed for a Spring 2018 release.
HP Omen
HP’s very own line-up of gaming devices, the HP Omen is now focusing on giving back to the gaming community through the Omen Game Stream. This will allow gamers to play and stream AAA games from their Omen PCs, carrying the Windows 10 operating system and a high-speed internet connection.
To promote its gaming on-the-go approach with the Omen, you can now store your saved files through the Omen Command Center, which acts as a cloud gaming server. So long as its a Windows 10 device, you can now connect to your Omen PC and play games that are well beyond the hardware specifications of the connecting device.
Aside from the Omen Game Stream, HP is also introducing its partnership with NVIDIA on its BFGD monitor. The OMEN X 65 Big Format Gaming Display with NVIDIA G-Sync is HP’s own iteration of the gaming monitor, featuring a 65-inch 4K UHD display. It also promises a 120Hz refresh rate with ultra-low latency for you to enjoy crisp and clear visuals like never before.
The monitor will also come with NVIDIA SHIELD integration to give seamless video streaming and content. The Omen Game Stream is slated for a Spring 2018 release while the Omen X 65 is planned for a Fall 2018 release.
