CES 2018: Charge your Mouse with the Razer HyperFlux

In typical Razer fashion at CES 2018, it introduces the Razer HyperFlux Wireless Power Technology. This will come in two new peripherals, the new battery-free Razer Mamba HyperFlux alongside the Razer Firefly HyperFlux RGB mousepad.

Through the use of a magnetic field, the Razer HyperFlux Wireless Power Technology transfer its power to its companion mouse, rather than to a battery. This eliminates the need for a battery within the mouse but maintaining the weight of a wired mouse. Both the Mamba and Firefly HyperFlux will be the first Razer peripherals to feature its new technology.

Razer Mamba HyperFlux

Essentially, the Mamba HyperFlux is the same as the original Mamba gaming mouse, aside from the use of the new HyperFlux technology. The Mamba HyperFlux houses the Razer Adaptive Frequency Technology (AFT) for better signal strength along with a 2.4GHz frequency band. It also carries a 5G optical sensor with DPI settings up to 16,000 and has up to nine programmable Hyperesponse buttons.

Much like many other Razer gaming mice, the Mamba Hyperflux will also come with Razer Mechanical Mouse Switches with a tactile scroll wheel. Unfortunately, like its predecessor, the Mamba HyperFlux doesn’t have an ambidextrous design, meaning it’s only for right-hand gamers.

Razer Firefly HyperFlux RGB

As it states in the name, the Firefly HyperFlux RGB is an RGB mousepad, which is nothing new of course. It will carry Razer Chrome lighting with 16.8 million colours to choose from. What is new is its dual hard and cloth mat surface with a non-slip rubber base.

The approximate size of the mat stands at 355 mm x 282.5 mm x 12.9 mm (WxHxD).

Both the Razer Mamba HyperFlux and Razer Firefly HyperFlux RGB are slated to release in Q1 of 2018 on both the Razer website as well as the rest of the world. It will be priced at US$249.99 (approx. RM1,000.51).
