With the democratisation of broadband taking effect, vendors have dropped subscription rates for packages and increased speeds as per the request by the Communication Ministry. These changes have been a boon for the consumers and businesses, as the domino effects of having more people being on the internet and experiencing the rich wealth of information it provides, is undeniable. Now the the latest to join in giving consumers better deals is Astro with their IPTV packages.
The operator has announced that existing Astro-Maxis IPTV customers can sign up for new broadband speeds of 30Mbps at RM89/month or opt to upgrade to 100Mbps at RM129/month with free hardware upgrade when they recontract to the new plans. The 100Mbps at RM129/month package comes with no usage quota and a dual-band Wi-Fi router.
Astro offered the fibre solution for customers who find satellite services disruptive and affected during rainy seasons. The cable service is dependent on TM fibre network with Maxis supporting for the last connectivity. Users will receive over 130 channels including those in HD and access to PVR functions.
While the 30Mbps broadband plan is available immediately customers who sign up for the 100Mbps plan will be informed of the availability via the website.
