EA and Bioware have announced that the public pre-launch demo for Anthem will arrive on 1st February 2019. To access the demo on the date, users can either pre-order, or join Origin Access or EA Access. Keep in mind that your subscription to Origin Access or EA Access must be valid on the date for you to be eligible.

Alongside this news, EA has also updated its website to showcase new information on Anthem’s various javelins. Javelins are the small exosuits that will protect you and provide abilities as you explore the dangerous world of Anthem.

Anthem’s Colossus Javelin is a hulking war machine designed to clear out entire hives of vicious predatory fauna with mounted artillery, heavy arms, or a flamethrower. On the other hand, the Interceptor Javelin excels at getting in close to inflict damage and weaken its enemies, then dashing away before they can react using powerful blades and devastating abilities. The Storm Javelin can float effortlessly above the ground and unleash kinetic energy on foes. Lastly, the Ranger Javelin is the all-rounder, with abilities to complement any situation. Essentially a jack-of-all trades but master of none.

EA also revealed a new story trailer for Anthem. According to the video, the game’s story will mostly unfold on Fort Tarsis, your in-game hub. Here, characters will interact and reveal their motivations and feelings to you. This design also helps Bioware add new story updates to the game easily over time. The developer stressed that these updates will be free of charge. Instead, monetisation will be conducted via selling in-game cosmetics.

Anthem launches fpr PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on 22nd February 2019.
