As far as YouTube stunts go, Malaysia’s got the short end of the stick but only in the sense that not much nothing ever happens here. We’re pretty conservative when it comes to pranks and when people actually do end up doing something, it’s almost always either underwhelming or overwhelmingly stupid.

Case in point for the latter, Isa Isarb. You may have heard of this guy prior to this, seeing as he has 375,000 subs on YouTube but with brands such as Xiaomi, McDonalds and KFC news jacking the current political situation in Malaysia for their own gain, he figured he’d do one better.

He came up with the ‘brilliant’ idea of distributing RM10,000 in RM1 notes to the crowd gathered outside the Istana Negara. Yup. His rationale behind it all? “The Agong gave away McDonalds yesterday, today it is KFC, so I want to give away RM10,000 in RM1 notes to everybody,”

According to the video he posted, the goal was to bring up anti-corruption awareness in the country, but I mean come on, the real goal here was his 15 seconds of fame. Upon arrival at the palace, Isa and his gang started giving out the RM1 notes to literally anyone who was there.

They actually managed to distribute RM600 in RM1’s before being approached by police officers who demanded that they leave the premises. Duly obliging, they packed up shop and left, only to be pulled over by the cops once more and given a stern warning not to do this kinda shit again. The video currently has over 97,000 views and 775 comments on YouTube .

Nothing like doing something idiotic to get attention, I guess. Was this dude really willing to give out RM10,000 for the sake of this video? Wouldn’t it have been a lot better if the cops had just let him give it out so he could go home with an RM10,000 hole in his pocket. Oh well..
