Xiaomi’s 100W Fast Charging Is Coming Soon; Capable Of Charging 4000mAh Battery In Just 17 Minutes!

Xiaomi is looking to be the first in every category it seems, and now they’re expected to release a new smartphone with their new Super Charge Turbo tech next year. The Super Charge Turbo is an overpowered 100W fast wire charging technology which was teased a few months back. At the time, they showed off a 4000mAh smartphone in 17 minutes.

And now they’ve shared some more info about it. At Xiaomi’s Developer Conference, they shared that the charger will feature a high-voltage charge pump and that the device will utilise a double-cell battery architecture.

If you’re wondering, that doesn’t sound too safe. What about all that Note 7 nonsense just a few years ago? Well they’ve added some extra safety features to the device. It will come with 9 layers of protection, 7 on the board and 2 layers on the battery. It’ll also be controlled by an independent MCU and utilises a MTW battery structure to maintain temperatures and internal resistance, and therefore increasing the charge rate.

It’s interesting to see the technology if you ask me, but I’m not too sure about how fast others will be to adopt it. One thing is for sure though, once someone does it, everyone will start making their own iterations of the technology, if they’ve not been working on it already. Man, we’re advancing so fast in the mobile phone game these days. Let’s wait to see all the latest and greatest features bundled into one super smartphone. That’ll be the day.
