Xiaomi is looking to be the first in every category it seems, and now they’re expected to release a new smartphone with their new Super Charge Turbo tech next year. The Super Charge Turbo is an overpowered 100W fast wire charging technology which was teased a few months back. At the time, they showed off a 4000mAh smartphone in 17 minutes.
And now they’ve shared some more info about it. At Xiaomi’s Developer Conference, they shared that the charger will feature a high-voltage charge pump and that the device will utilise a double-cell battery architecture.
If you’re wondering, that doesn’t sound too safe. What about all that Note 7 nonsense just a few years ago? Well they’ve added some extra safety features to the device. It will come with 9 layers of protection, 7 on the board and 2 layers on the battery. It’ll also be controlled by an independent MCU and utilises a MTW battery structure to maintain temperatures and internal resistance, and therefore increasing the charge rate.
