Somehow we feel VGL has been quite quiet this year, hasn’t it? In fact, we barely heard a peep even from the organisers, all the major geeky tech media or even any hype on social media. Strange isn’t it. Anyway, VGL as we know it, Video Games Live if you don’t, is an immersive concert featuring music from the most popular video games of all times, from the likes of Super Mario Bros, Tetris, Skyrim, Final Fantasy and more.
VGL is usually held around the world, and the Malaysia edition of VGL will be held on August 29, 2015 at Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil. Our country’s edition of VGL is not just a regular music concert presenting the National Symphony Orchestra, but a family musical festival with activities including games and competitions like Guitar Hero, cosplay red carpet, video game characters parade, photo booth, face painting for children, food trucks galore – all starting from 1pm onwards.
“Whether it’s 8-track compositions or full orchestral arrangements, the game music has grown to include the same breadth and complexity associated with big screen soundtracks, and it is fast becoming a global phenomenon,” said Leslie Jeyam, Director of 11To11 Events at the press conference.
“2015 marks the 10th year anniversary for VGL and this is the third time it’s com- ing to Malaysia. VGL is rightfully a testimony to the growing popularity of video game music among gamers and non-gamers. And we are excited to be presenting this act to all Malaysians.”
Ultimately, VGL’s aim is to create an explosive entertainment experience for music lovers of all ages.
Tickets sales start on June 15 and prices start from RM98 to RM588.
