Vertiv has introduced a groundbreaking 7MW reference architecture in collaboration with NVIDIA, aimed at transforming traditional data centres into AI-driven infrastructures. This development supports the deployment of NVIDIA’s GB200 NVL72 platform, optimising critical digital infrastructure for AI applications across industries.
The new architecture provides a comprehensive solution to deploying the liquid-cooled rack-scale platform, which supports up to 132kW per rack. It is designed to streamline the installation process while improving performance, energy efficiency, and scalability, making it suitable for both new and existing data centres.
Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, highlighted the partnership’s potential to accelerate AI-driven data centres, stating, “Our portfolio of power and cooling solutions, combined with our global scale, will enable faster, more efficient deployments, addressing densification and future computing demands.”

This architecture, which forms part of Vertiv’s 360AI portfolio, integrates advanced power management and hybrid cooling technologies to handle high-density heat removal. Notably, the system reduces installation times by up to 50% using pre-configured modules and factory integration, while also saving space and enhancing energy efficiency.
Key features include the Vertiv™ Trinergy™ uninterruptible power supply (UPS), advanced lithium-ion battery technology, and liquid and air-cooling solutions that provide up to 20% lower annual cooling costs compared to traditional systems.
