The number of cyber attacks has been on the rise and US is ready to announce the criminal charges against hackers next week. “Cloudhopper”, a Chinese operation which is the primary target for the US since they are rated as one of the most expansive and successful hacking scheme ever recorded.

China have their hands on a huge chunk of data related to the US businesses from hackers who are associated with China’s Ministry of State Security. This is an alarming situation given that Cloudhopper targets large, third-party, data storage companies, and cloud software service companies that store data for U.S. companies and government agencies.

According to a British multinational defense contractor BAE Systems, cyberattacks connected to Cloudhopper began at least as early as 2017. After the request of the US to arrest of Huawei’s CFO, Meng Wanzhou, Washington and Beijing will be facing a lot of tension although the pending hacking charges is not related to Huawei.

Private-sector cybersecurity researchers and government investigators said Cloudhopper is a major cyberthrear because of the scale of the intrusions.
