Have you ever wanted to sleep in a bus? I mean, it’s a rather specific wish but hey, now you can :’)
Universiti Malaya has turned a decommissioned UM student bus into a tiny home for rent, in something that looks like it’s come straight out of Tiny Home Nation. The popular Netflix show explores small homes and helps the families who live there turn them into wonderful spaces for habitation. It seems that UM has just done just that with a freaking bus!

The refurbished bus has been making its rounds on the internet, with many people interested by its unique appeal. The bus itself is parked right outside the University’s Rumah No.2 and i’m not going to lie, doesn’t look like much from the outside. Walk in however, and whatever weird feelings you had about the thought of staying on a bus just disappear.

The converted bus, which has been open for rental since the beginning of July, features a fully furnished living space that comes complete with a sitting area, kitchenette and a bedroom for two that’s actually been partitioned for the added privacy. Based on the pictures, there is plenty of natural light as well, which is always good.
The best part is, the bus isn’t the only attraction. The house in which the bus is parked at comes with an edible garden that’s also home to a pair of friendly rabbits and a chicken, so in a way you also kind of get the farm life experience. The only caveat is that there’s no toilet on the bus, but guests are welcome to use the private toilet that’s in the house.
They basically turned the bus into an RV, and if you’ve seen enough movies.. you know that all sorts of things happen on RVs so if you’ve ever had a dream of spending the night in an RV, albeit one that doesn’t move, then this bus is totally for you.
According to the Rumah No. 2 Facebook page, the idea to refurbish the bus came about when the university’s former Deputy Vice-Chancellor asked two groups in the university’s Sustainability and Living Labs Secretariat, Water Warriors and the Rimba Project if they had any use for the bus.
The rest as they say, is history. You can book your stay at KL’s most unique Airbnb HERE.
