U Mobile gets jiggy with it. For free.
What is better than streaming music? Why, streaming music for free of course! Malaysia’s orange-flavoured telco – U Mobile, alongside collaborators KK Box, Era, My.FM and Hitz.FM, believes in this notion and, thus, have joined forces to introduce FREE data for music streaming as part of its new efforts to give away more value to its users.
From 11 November 2014 to 15 May 2015, U Mobile’s new and existing prepaid, postpaid, and broadband customers that subscribed to the telco’s data plans are eligible to enjoy free data to stream the latest music hits and their favourite radio programmes with no bandwidth limitations.
Once the promotional period ends, U Mobile data users can continue enjoying the service at RM3 per month without worrying about their data quota. This supplements U Mobile’s other Internet plans like the recently launched Free Non-Stop Video Streaming add-on for YouTube and Tonton, a similar plan that offers free data for video streaming on both platforms from 2am to 10am daily.

Studies show that 38% of Malaysian youths stream music on their mobile devices, with music and radio apps listed in the Top 5 Apps.
