Roaming charges is a nightmare for anyone who travels frequently, you think you have it under control by using free wifi and limiting your calls. To quell the fear of roaming and bill shock, Maxis has introduced a plan for travelers by waiving the exorbitant phone call, text message and data charges one pays when one travels abroad. Introducing the MaxisOne World plan, Maxis postpaid customers can bring along their MaxisOne package that they subscribe to overseas and be billed according to Malaysian rate.

Apart from the RM38 day pass for roaming, for instance if you’re on the 128 plan, you have unlimited calls & text and 3GB of data which then can be extended to the country you visit without you worrying on the hefty charges you may incur if you use your line. Maxis has even gone to the extent of giving users an extra 500MB free high speed roaming for each day they are there. The charges remains the same as long as users stick with the selected network partners overseas however if accidentally anyone were to roam on the wrong network, no worries, Maxis will not penalise with high roaming charges either.

The countries that will be included is in phases and as for phase 1 it will be for customers traveling to ASEAN countries namely Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei, Philippines, Cambodia and Laos and very soon be adding other Asia Pacific countries to the list.
